Venus de Milo

This print is a single line interpretation of the famous Venus de Milo sculpture (thought to be by Alexandros of Antioch, 130BC).

As an artist, I wanted the eye to be drawn to the parts we would naturally look at on a sculpture, namely the soft curves of the body, the relaxed pose and drapery.

The single line approach, particularly around the stomach and chest areas, defines the key areas but allows for a more subtle/abstract interpretation of details and the body’s form.
